You've got to be kidding!

As a parent, I have had times, in the last twenty-two months, when I looked at my child and thought to myself: "What was I thinking?!" I have had also the moments (especially within the last few months of E's toddlerhood) when, staring at E speechless and uncomprehending, I thought to myself (and might have shared that with him): "Ephraim, you've got to be kidding!"

Well, after today's little event I know that my child is NOT KIDDING! There will not be much that my son might possibly come up with (as he goes through his life learning about the world) that will surprise me. Today, his curiosity and ingenuity simply reached their limits:

He yelled "Funny!" and laughed as I stood there wondering whether I should turn the dryer on...

And then he seemed surprised at my reaction: "What?"

"NOT FUNNY!"
